QUEEN Shit Only Sir

“What’s left that I didn’t do? You bit the forbidden fruit. You thought you’d get my spot? Who the fuck was kidding you?”

Run me the money!

Fam. Onika is my spirit animal, on God!

In my experience, music has more of an impact on your life when you can associate it to a certain period, or situation. I must say, prior to this album’s release, I was feeling like complete shit. Like, totally and completely. I was in the middle of a huge move, and trying to adjust to all the changes happening around me. I became a recluse. Avoided going out, distancing myself from so many people. It was a trying time only because it was the first time I felt completely alone, and knew I would have to eventually rely on myself to get out of it. God bless some good hearted people I have around me and access to if I truly need it. Their kind words, and unconditional love really pushed me to work on getting out of my slump. Sometimes you just gotta grow through it.

So check this. I was feeling all down and whatever, like literally dragging my feet around. Trust me, I hate that guy too, but I really embodied his sad ass for a bit. Shame, I know. After a little while, I was starting to feel a bit like myself again, so I figured, lemme go listen to this new Nicki. Motherfuckers been trying to knock her down for a while, so I’m sure she’s got something in her bag that I could vibe to. And boy was I right. Listen, if you really think Queen is trash, then maybe you’ve never experienced giving your all to something only to be under appreciated. Or maybe you don’t know what it’s like to have people form an alliance against you to break you down. Because thats exactly what I took from her art. From the title of the album, boss move by the way, to the content, Nicki really talking her shit out here. After a few listens, the title made much more sense to me. The overall feeling that she left me with, was one of empowerment, and confidence. She managed to lift my spirits through her lyrics as well as her ability to share her vulnerability, and her delivery had me ready to rename all these bitches my sons, no cap!

In no way am I a barb, nor will you ever catch me in a pink lace front, but with songs like LLC, Good Form, Miami, and Thought I Knew You, I’m about ready to give ol girl all the streams to show my appreciation for helping a fellow Sagittarius out of her slump. And yes, I’ve seen her twitter “rants”, like everyone else, but she’s an artist first so I keep my focus on the music, and less on the theatrics. But let’s not front like her calling grown ass men hoes and sis isn’t hilarious. I can think of a few people that….lemme stop lol. Nip Tuck. New mantra courtesy of Ms. Nicki. Thanks bish!

“Anything that Nicki do, you know they knock it off”
